Hannas Awarded Works at Woronora Treatment Plant

19/01/2009 12:00:00 AM

Hannas has further developed its existing relationship with leading global energy and resources company Worley Parsons. Through the award of multiple contracts, Hannas will provide civil, mechanical and associated pipeworks at Sydney Water’s Woronora Filtration Plant facilities.

The extensive works form part of Sydney Water’s broader initiatives under the Renewable Energy Project.  This pioneering project includes the development of renewable energy sources at a number of Sydney Water sites, throughout the greater metropolitan area. The development is the responsibility of an energy partnership between Sydney Water Corporation, Worley Parsons and Energetics.

Woronora Water Filtration Plant supplies up to 160 million litres of filtered drinking water per day, to the population of Sydney’s southern suburbs. The project aims to cut into the existing water line and install a turbine generator to capture the energy lost in the existing (PRV) Pressure Reducing Valve.

Hannas long standing focus on environmental issues and responsible management, combined with their substantial skills in this area, ensure they are the perfect partner for this project.
