Hannas Celebrate Successful Completion of STAR Project

Wednesday, 2 June 2010

Hannas recently celebrated, alongside our Alliance partners and JUHI, the successful completion of the STAR Project at Sydney Airport.

The project saw Hannas working alongside longtime alliance partner Transfield Services to extend the existing fuel line within the airport to accommodate the recently expanded International Terminal.

The completion of this project could not have been achieved without the dedication of all personal that provided support whether it was technical or supply, to ensure the delivery of a quality end product. Challenges and the degree of difficulty with this project have been challenging, but commitment and support has delivered approximately 6 months and 18,000 man hours of work and completion earlier than agreed schedule without any First Aid, MTI or LTI incidents.

The attention to detail and to doing to job right the first time and doing it safely was outstanding, often in difficult and challenging confined spaces and in areas where airport operations had to be maintained at all times. The team efforts ensured that all curfew tie-in works were planned in meticulous detail and executed flawlessly and enabled JUHI to maintain 100% availability of the hydrant system for airport operations during normal operating hours.
