In the Beginning
Hannas CEO, Danny Hanna, could always think
big, but he also knew that to make a mark on the civil construction
industry he
would have to start from the ground up.
He began his career in 1985 as a backhoe operator,
working for
his father, Elian Hanna, and a business partner on significant
NSW construction projects, including the Darling
Harbour development
and the Warragamba Dam.
In late 1987, with the financial backing of his father, Danny established the family company Hannas Excavation and Demolition. In 1991, Hanna
brothers Emile and Afram joined the company, which was renamed Hannas Civil Engineering to reflect the considerable size and
scope of the civil projects being undertaken by Hannas.
The company continued to grow through strong
leadership
and management,
and in 1995
it became known
as Hannas Group
of Companies.
Now called
Hannas, the
business continues
to deliver
high-quality,
innovative
and cost-effective solutions,
on time and
on budget.
Danny’s vision continues to play an integral part in the outstanding success of the company. With a strong
client base of Australian and multinational companies – including Caltex, Shell, the Department of Commerce, Australian Defence
Industries, Leightons, Valad Property, Telstra and Transfield Services – Hannas has diversified and evolved to become
a national construction and development organisation employing highly skilled people within separate business divisions for property, civil construction and facilities management.
